Ato Kekia Diriba, Chairman of Dire Dawa University Support and Monitoring Coordinators in the Prosperity Party, who opened the conference with a speech, stated that the conference was held at a time when the party was accompanied by many successes.Especially in Dire Dawa University, in 2014E.C, it was possible to do successful work with great activity from the members to the senior management.

He stated that the community radio station that the university established to enable it to reach the community more than before, the ICT infrastructure development and data center construction work that was built with 190 million birr to modernize the teaching and learning work, as well as the work done in the academic and human resource development sectors, are among the most successful activities in the fiscal year.

This does not mean that there were no weaknesses and limitations that created gaps, Ato Kekia said,especially in the current fiscal year, all the party leaders and members at the university should strengthen their efforts to fight against rent-seeking and corruption by empowering themselves and others so that the university can achieve its vision.

DireDawa Prosperity Party’s Development Institutions Planning Support and Monitoring Department Head, Ato Umer Ahmed, who was present at the same conference, said that it was a year where we were able to record many victories in the social and economic spheres, as a country and as our Dire Dawa Party, and in the political sector, we were able to increase public participation more than before. He emphasized that in order to continue these successes, the leaders of the university and its members must continue the encouraging work they have started.

At the conference, the 2014 performance report and 2015 plan of Dire Dawa University’s Prosperity Party were presented and discussed, and finally, the election of the leadership of the basic organization and cell leadership was completed.
